8 Trigram Qigong Workshop

 

8 Trigram Qigong is a Daoist Medical Qigong set, helping us align Body, Breath and Spirit into a harmonious flow state.

The eight graceful movements of this form coil and spiral like a dragon. The entire body is accessed to cultivate a centered, connected core and a strong, supple spine. This is an extremely powerful form for healing spinal issues and injuries. Using rhythmic flowing exercises guided by the breath we open and cleanse the meridians, deeply massage the internal organs and activate our dragon bodies.

This practice is designed to make the movement of Qi a fully tangible experience and to increase the healthy circulation of this life force energy. We learn to orient ourselves with awareness in the three dimensional grid of space and energy around us, perfect for more  efficiently navigating our bodies through the dance of life!

We will also be learning the Meridian Stretching Series, an amazing Qigong warmup for the 8 Trigram or any other practice. This workshop is for anyone interested in movement, martial arts, yoga, functional fitness and meditation, and it is suitable for all levels from total beginners to advanced practitioners. The weekend includes both theory and application, with an introduction to Qigong and application to Chinese Medicine, modern sports science and fascia research.

Please wear comfortable clothing to move in and bring notebook and pen for writing. We will meet for two days, 8 hours total. 10am-12pm and 3-5pm Saturday and Sunday.
